A Fish Tale From our Friends Aboard the Booby Trap.  A few weeks ago, a post was put up on the Bluewater Board of www.2coolfishing.comabout a gentleman and his family who were in great need of some help. Rik Jacobson, a well-known fisherman from Texas, was diagnosed with cancer and put into an extreme financial bind. Several of his good friends put together an auction giving away everything from knives, weekend stays at their beach houses, fishing trips and so on. I had never met Rik, but heard of him for years being known as one of the best bottom fishermen for snapper and grouper around these parts. We are headed out in the morning with the 3 gentleman that purchased the second trip we donated to Riks benefit… The moon is at its worst phase of the month, the current is supposed to be the lightest current of the year for the next 5 days :/… Those are really bad fishing conditions for swords but the weather looks great and the seas look calm so we are going to head on out and see if we can get on them… Looking forward to getting back on the water and meeting the guys that did this great thing for Rick … Hope the swords cooperate … It’s time to Get Tight Suckas!
